Terms of service

How booking, paying, cancelling and stopping work. Written to be read rather than skipped.

Last updated 28 August 2026

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are between you, the person paying for tuition, and Meridian Tutors, a tutoring practice run by Rayan Raheel and Izaan Abdullah in London, United Kingdom. Booking a session means you accept them. Where the student is under 18, the contract is with the parent or guardian.

2. What we provide

One-to-one online tuition in Edexcel Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics at A-Level and GCSE, and preparation for the TMUA admissions test. Sessions run over video with a shared digital whiteboard. Written work in the session is sent to you afterwards.

3. What we do not promise

We do not guarantee a grade, an offer, or a place at any university. Anyone who does is either lying or misunderstands how exams work. Results depend on the work the student does between sessions, and outcomes described anywhere on this site belong to individual students and are not a prediction for anyone else.

4. Booking and fees

  • Rates are published on this site and are per hour. GCSE is £45, A-Level is £55 and TMUA preparation is £65.
  • The first 20-minute call is free and creates no obligation on either side.
  • There is no joining fee, no minimum block and no contract term. You book session by session.
  • Invoices are issued after each session or monthly in arrears, and are payable by bank transfer within seven days.
  • We may change our rates with at least 30 days' notice. Sessions already booked are charged at the old rate.

5. Cancelling and rescheduling

  • Cancel or move a session with at least 24 hours' notice and there is no charge.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice, or a student who does not appear within 15 minutes of the start time, is charged in full. The slot was held and could not be given to anyone else.
  • If illness or an emergency causes a late cancellation, tell us. We are reasonable about things that are genuinely unavoidable.
  • If we cancel, you are not charged, and we will offer a replacement slot as soon as we can.

6. Stopping

You can stop at any time, with no notice period and nothing further to pay beyond sessions already taught. We may also stop teaching a student, with notice and a reason, if sessions are repeatedly missed, if work is never done, or if we think tutoring is not what the student actually needs.

7. Materials and copyright

Question banks, worked solutions, chains of analysis and session notes we write remain ours. You may use them for the student's own revision. You may not share, resell, publish or feed them into a commercial product without our written permission. Past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports belong to Pearson Edexcel and are used under their terms, not ours.

8. Conduct and safeguarding

  • A parent or guardian is welcome to sit in on any session, without arranging it in advance.
  • Contact with students under 18 stays on the channels agreed with the parent or guardian.
  • Sessions are not recorded by us unless you ask for a recording. You should not record a session without telling us first.
  • We will end a session, without refund, if a student or a parent is abusive to a tutor.
  • If we ever believe a child is at risk, we will act on it, including contacting the relevant authorities. Confidentiality does not override that.

9. Technology

You need a stable internet connection, a device that can run video calls, and somewhere quiet to work. If our connection fails and a session is materially cut short, we will make the time up or not charge for it. If yours fails, we will do what we reasonably can, but the session is still charged.

10. Liability

Our liability to you for any claim connected with tuition is limited to the fees you have paid us in the previous three months. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. This clause does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Complaints

Email enquiries@meridiantutors.uk with what went wrong. We will reply within five working days and tell you what we intend to do about it. We would rather hear it directly than read it somewhere else.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Still want to book?

The first twenty minutes are free, and nothing above applies until a paid session is booked.
